Checkout cookies and browser storage

This notice covers checkout.sterlingvault.co.uk. We do not use advertising cookies or load a browser analytics service on this checkout.

Checkout session cookie

The checkout uses a session cookie to remember which basket you verified and to keep the payment steps secure. Without it, the checkout cannot continue between pages. The cookie is set by this site for the duration of your browser session.

Resume checkout

We save a basket token under sterlingvault:basket-token in your browser's local storage so we can offer “continue where you left off” on your next visit. It stays there until you clear your browser storage or the checkout finds that the saved basket is no longer usable. This token can resume an unpaid checkout, so clear browser storage if you use a shared device.

Internal service statistics

We count requests to checkout pages and summarise basket and payment records in our own database. This does not set an analytics cookie or place an analytics identifier in your browser. The report contains page-request totals, not a record of your journey. See our checkout privacy notice for more about how we handle information.

Other services

If you continue to a card or bank-transfer provider, their site may use its own cookies under its own notice. This checkout loads fonts from Google and a logo from the main Sterling Vault website; those external requests are separate from our checkout session cookie.
